A key transport link in Ramechhap is finally nearing completion. The concrete bridge over Bhatauli Khola, which connects Manthali Municipality-7 and Khandadevi Rural Municipality-4, has reached its final stage and is expected to be finished by mid-June.

The project, backed by the Bagmati Province government with an investment of NPR 33.36 million, is a single-span bridge that has taken longer than planned to reach this point. Contractor Deepak Thapa said the work began three years ago but was delayed because the design had to be changed along the way.

A long-awaited bridge for local travel

The Bhatauli Khola bridge is more than a local infrastructure project. For residents in the area, it is a crucial connection that improves access between communities and supports travel across the region. The bridge sits on an important route linking Manthali with Khandadevi and nearby rural municipalities, making it a practical alternative road for daily movement.

Local authorities have recently intensified construction activity to meet the upcoming deadline, signaling that the project is moving toward completion after an extended build period.

Why the project took longer

According to the contractor, the bridge was not completed earlier because the original plan required adjustments. Design changes often add time to infrastructure projects, especially when engineering conditions or site requirements shift during construction.

Even with the delay, the project is now in its final phase, and the focus has shifted to finishing the remaining work as quickly as possible.

What this means for Ramechhap

Once completed, the bridge is expected to improve connectivity for people traveling between Manthali Municipality-7 and Khandadevi Rural Municipality-4. It should also support smoother movement for vehicles and residents who depend on this route for access to services, markets, and neighboring communities.

For a district where road links can shape daily life, the completion of the Bhatauli Khola bridge marks an important step in strengthening local infrastructure and mobility.
