Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly in Bhaktapur, Leaving a Mother Dead and Child Injured

A domestic conflict in Chhaling, Bhaktapur, ended in tragedy after a man allegedly attacked his wife with a khukuri, killing her and injuring their eight-year-old son.

A domestic dispute in Chhaling, Bhaktapur, ended in tragedy when a 33-year-old woman, Salina, was allegedly killed by her husband, Vidur Bishwakarma, in a khukuri attack. Their eight-year-old son was also injured in the incident and is receiving medical treatment.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Jabegu of the District Police Range Bhaktapur, the attack took place during a family dispute in Bhaktapur Municipality-10. Police said the family, originally from Shankharapur, had been living in a rented house in the area.

What police say happened

Police reported that the suspect attacked his wife with a khukuri during the dispute, leading to her death at the scene. The child was hurt in the same incident and was taken for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about what triggered the confrontation, but the case has been described as a domestic violence-related killing.

A family tragedy with a child caught in the middle

The most disturbing part of the case is that the couple’s young son was injured as the violence unfolded inside the home. Medical staff are treating the child, though officials have not disclosed the severity of his injuries.
