Hari Shrestha Wins RSP Gulmi Leadership in Tight District Vote

Hari Shrestha has been elected chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party's Gulmi district committee after a closely contested vote at the party's first district convention on Saturday.

Shrestha defeated rival Mahesh GC by a narrow margin, winning 118 votes against 113. The result highlights how competitive internal party politics can be even at the district level, especially in a party that has built momentum quickly across Nepal.

Key district posts filled

Alongside the chairman race, the convention also elected other district leaders. Pragati Rana Magar was chosen as Vice-Chairman, while Devraj Pandey became Secretary.

The convention formed an 11-member district committee in line with the party's statute, giving the Gulmi unit a formal leadership structure as the RSP continues to expand its organizational footprint.
