The latest operations show how aggressively authorities are moving against drug trafficking networks that have spread across multiple districts.
In Kathmandu, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested 11 people during a special operation carried out between May 25 and May 30, recovering 101 grams of brown heroin. The arrests were made from different locations in the capital, underscoring how widely traffickers appear to be operating within the city.
At the same time, the District Police Office Makwanpur detained 13 more suspects in separate raids across the district. Police recovered brown heroin and additional narcotics during the operation, which was part of a broader effort to disrupt the supply and distribution of illegal drugs.
Brown heroin, often referred to as brown sugar, remains one of the most closely watched narcotics in Nepal’s enforcement campaigns because of its link to organized distribution networks and repeat trafficking activity. The scale of the latest seizures suggests that police are targeting both street-level possession and broader supply chains.
Authorities have been stepping up special operations across the country as part of an ongoing push to curb narcotics-related crime.
