Police in Jhapa have arrested 35-year-old Ram Bahadur Gautam in connection with the alleged killing of Rudra Shrestha, a case that began as a personal dispute and ended in tragedy at a plywood factory in Mechinagar.

According to the report, the incident happened on Sunday night at the Maa Pathibhara Plywood Factory, where a physical confrontation broke out between the two men. Shrestha, who was 55, suffered severe injuries and later died on Monday morning while receiving treatment at Provincial Hospital Bhadrapur.

Authorities say Gautam, who is originally from Tanahun, was taken into custody on Monday. The arrest followed the investigation into the fatal altercation, which police say was triggered by a personal dispute.

The case highlights how quickly workplace or personal conflicts can escalate into violent crime, leaving families, employers, and local communities to absorb the shock. It also adds to growing public concern around dispute resolution, safety, and the role of timely intervention when tensions turn physical.

For now, investigators are expected to continue examining the sequence of events that led to the deadly assault, while the victim's death marks a grim end to what began as a confrontation on factory grounds.
