Police Recover Three Illegal Muzzle-Loading Guns Hidden in Salyan Community Forest
Police in Salyan say they recovered three illegal muzzle-loading guns hidden in Siddhagufa Community Forest and have launched an investigation to find who stored them there.
Police in Salyan have recovered three illegal muzzle-loading guns that were found hidden in Siddhagufa Community Forest in Bangad Kupinde Municipality-12.
According to the District Police Office Salyan, the weapons were discovered after a tip-off led officers to the forest, where the guns had been left abandoned. Inspector Debraj Bhattarai said an investigation is now underway to identify who concealed the firearms and why they were placed there.
No arrests have been made so far, and police have not yet disclosed whether the recovered weapons were linked to any known criminal activity.
The discovery adds to a broader pattern of weapons recovery in Salyan, where police have previously reported finding illegally hidden guns in different locations. In one earlier case, authorities seized 33 loaded guns that had been concealed in various places in the district.
For now, investigators are focused on tracing the origin of the weapons and determining whether the forest was being used as a storage site or a temporary hiding place.
