An Armed Police Force personnel and a local man have gone missing from the banks of the Mahakali River in Parshuram Municipality-5, Dadeldhura, triggering a search operation by local authorities.

The missing individuals have been identified as Om Prakash Pun Magar, who is stationed at the Parigaun Border Out Post, and 56-year-old Tirtha Bahadur Thapa Magar. According to DSP Barun Bahadur Singh of the District Police Office Dadeldhura, the two have been out of contact since Friday.

Search teams recovered a tube from the river during the operation, adding to concerns about what may have happened near the riverbank. Officials have not yet confirmed the circumstances behind their disappearance.

The Mahakali River has long been associated with dangerous currents and repeated incidents in the region, making any disappearance along its banks a serious concern for residents and responders alike.
