UML Says Oli’s Chairmanship Is Not Up for Social Media Debate

CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has pushed back against speculation that party chair KP Sharma Oli could be removed, saying the party is not in favor of changing leadership outside its general convention. Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari Morang in Biratnagar on Saturday, Pokharel said the party is currently focused on restructuring and reorganization.

His remarks come at a time when internal leadership questions are once again hovering over Nepal’s ruling political landscape. But Pokharel drew a firm line between public chatter and party procedure, saying leadership decisions are not made through social media debates or commentary.
